Santa Clara County Library District
Saratoga Union School District (SUSD) and the Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) are partnering to ensure that all students have an opportunity to get a library card. The public library provides rich learning resources including books, eBooks, computers, music, periodicals, databases, and more. The Saratoga Library also serves as a community gathering place - story time for the little ones, homework meeting spot for older children, activities for the family, and lectures and seminars for adults. SUSD encourages families to avail themselves of the materials and staff experience that the library provides.
Library cards are free. Cardholders need to follow the rules of the Santa Clara County Library District. Please visit the SCCLD website www.sccl.org for information about Borrowing Materials. Library account information will only be given to a card owner and may not be shared with family members. There are no fines on children’s materials, but lost items will incur fees. Card owners are responsible for any charges on a card until the library is notified that the card is lost or stolen.
If you opted in during the registration/enrollment update process for your child to receive a card, you may print and use the Immediate Access Card as well as stop by the Saratoga Library to receive a full access card (see below on what to bring to the library to pick up the card). Information regarding your student's login is emailed in mid September.
If you did not opt in, please stop by the Saratoga Library or any county library to sign up for a card.
Your student must be present to pick up his/her card from the library. Please bring one of the following for identification:
- Any postmarked mail addressed the student
- A student ID card
- Or accompanied by parent with photo ID
Questions, please contact the Saratoga Library at (408) 867-6126 or the County Library at 800-286-1991.
SCCLD has libraries in Saratoga, Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Milpitas, and Morgan Hill.
