Enrollment/Registration Process

Registration is available to families whose child meet the residency and age requirements.

Registration Periods

There are two registration periods for enrolling your student in Saratoga USD:

  • Regular Registration: February

    The Regular Registration period is for families enrolling for the next academic school year and can provide a COMPLETE Preregistration Packet and ALL requested documents as listed in the packet.  There are no exceptions for incomplete registration documents during the Regular Registration period..

    All students registering in February are treated equally in terms of elementary school placement. 

    Currently enrolled families with an incoming sibling must register in the Regular Registration Period in order to have priority placement at the same school.
     
  • Conditional Registration: Starts in March

    Families may enroll their students conditionally for the next academic school year if they have just moved into the school district or are in process of moving (must provide escrow papers, grant deed, property tax bill, or signed lease valid for the next school year).  Families must provide ALL requested student documents and partial proofs of residency as listed in the Preregistration Packet.  Families will be given 60 days to bring in any missing proofs of residency. When the required documentation is available, copies can be brought to the district office or your school office, or emailed to registration@saratogausd.org.  Please make sure your student's name and grade are on any document sent to the district office.

    K-5 students registering at this time are placed first-come-first-served in remaining spots at our three schools.  SUSD does not "overflow" students to neighboring districts. As long as your child is a resident of the district she/he is guaranteed a spot in our schools, but for TK/K-5 it may or may not be your first or second choice of school depending on space available per site.

Registration for the current school year is ongoing.

Families just moving into the district and enrolling for the current school year must provide ALL required student documents and partial proofs of residency as listed in the Preregistration Packet, including a signed lease for the current school year or escrow/purchase contract.  Families will be given 60 days to bring in remaining proofs of residency.

 

Registration is a 3 step process:

  1. Download the Preregistration Packet listed at saratogausd.org/families/enrollment-registrar that corresponds to your student's grade and enrollment year.  If you don't have access to a printer you may pick up a packet at the District Office, 20460 Forrest Hills Drive in Saratoga during registration office hours.

    Please print a packet for each student.  Follow the directions in the packet regarding required documents.

  2. Email registration@saratogausd.org with the following information:
    Student's legal name, date of birth, grade for the 2024-25 school year, address, and parent/guardian legal names, phone numbers and email addresses.

  3. You will receive an email with your Registration Link to complete your student's registration online via PowerSchool Enrollment.

    Your registration is NOT COMPLETE until the online portion of the registration is submitted online.  You will see a confirmation page when your registration is submitted successfully.
