Approved EdTech Apps

At SUSD, students use their Google Workspace for Education accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers, sign in to their Chromebooks, access various online tools, and learn 21st-century digital citizenship skills.

This notice describes the personal information we provide to Google for these accounts and how Google collects, uses, and discloses personal information from students in connection with these accounts.

Using their Google Workspace for Education accounts, students may access and use the following “Core Services” offered by Google (described at https://workspace.google.com/terms/user_features.html):

  • Gmail
  • AppSheet
  • Calendar
  • Chrome Sync
  • Chrome Web Store (limited access to approved extensions)
  • Classroom
  • Cloud Search
  • Contacts
  • Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms
  • Drive
  • Groups
  • Keep
  • Read Along
  • Sites
  • Tasks

In addition, we also allow students to access certain other Google services with their Google Workspace for Education accounts. Specifically, your child may have access to the following “Additional Services”:

  • Applied Digital Skills
  • CS First
  • Google Arts & Culture
  • Google Books
  • Google Earth
  • Google Looker Studio
  • Google Maps
  • Google My Maps
  • Google News
  • Google Takeout
  • Google Translate
  • Tour Creator
  • YouTube

In addition, the District enables various additional Google tools and some third-party add-ons from the G Suite Marketplace for educational use by students and staff. Throughout the school year, staff-requested tools and services are vetted by the District to ensure they are educationally relevant and abide by our privacy practices.
