Summer School

Summer School Program Overview

Each year Saratoga Union School District (SUSD) offers summer programs for currently enrolled SUSD students. 

  • Summer classes usually meet Monday-Friday and begin one week after the end of the regular school year. 
  • Summer classes are usually held in the mornings
  • Summer classes are usually held at one school location for all summer programs.
  • Volunteer Teaching Assistant positions are available for incoming high school grade 9-12 students (details below).
  • Afternoon Extended Care options may be offered - visit the SUSD Tree House webpage or contact treehouse@saratogausd.org

Specific details about the current summer program will be posted below as soon as they are available. Invitations and registration information are usually sent to SUSD families in March via ParentSquare.

Summer 2026 Program Schedule & Descriptions

Volunteer Teaching Assistant Program

Students entering grades 9-12, and who are at least 14 years of age by the first day of the program, may apply to be a Volunteer Teaching Assistant (TA) in SUSD's summer programs. The application process opens in the Spring and closes once all positions are filled (the number of positions varies each year).  

Advanced academic experience is NOT required; Training will be provided.
All TAs will receive a certificate of volunteer hours at the conclusion of the program.

2026 Academic Summer School Info Meeting

A virtual information meeting for Academic Summer School parents & students will be held in late May. Registered families will receive meeting details as soon as they are available.

2026 Summer Food Services

Mid-morning snack and lunch will be available at no-cost to all participants during our 2026 summer programs. A link to the 2026 Summer Menu will be posted here as soon as it is available.
