Bridging the Gap: 
Communicating with Your Kids about Sexuality

Human Sexuality is a lifelong process beginning at birth and includes one's physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.  Body development, relationships, establishing boundaries are issues that affect kids of ALL ages. In this workshop, parents/guardians will learn how to guide kids of ALL ages through important sexuality topics in today's modern culture, including:

  • How to start the talk and answer sexuality questions for kids of ALL ages
  • Helping your kids to make smart choices regarding boundaries, puberty and relationship
  • ...and more!

Ivy Chen MPH is a lecturer at San Francisco State University and media spokesperson on sexuality health education on TV, radio, and newspaper.


Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

In October 2018, Saratoga USD adopted the Positive Prevention Plus (PPP) curriculum to be taught to 5th grade and 8th grade students each school year.  To learn more about the multi-year decision-making process, please visit the Comprehensive Sexuality Education Working Group webpage.

The Positive Prevention Plus (PPP) curriculum will be taught to 5th grade students on select dates between February 5 - March 8, 2024.
