District parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to stay apprised of school and district news via school eNews, websites, and social media (see below). If your email address or phone/text number changes, please contact your school office immediately.
News and Updates from School and District
eNews is sent via email and communication app approximately once per week to parents/guardians. eNews contains important updates from your school, district, and Superintendent. We are excited to announce that SUSD will be transitioning to ParentSquare in February 2020. Notifications and eNews from your classroom, school, and district will be sent to you through this new tool. ParentSquare provides a simple and safe way for everyone at school to connect. With ParentSquare you are able to: receive school and classroom communication via email, text or app; share and download class photos; view the school and classroom calendar and RSVP for events/conferences; sign up to volunteer or bring items; view the school family directory online; and interact with groups such as PTA and SEF. You can also customize your experience by receiving regular messages or daily digests, view from any device, and choose your preferred language.
ParentSquare works from any computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Download the free mobile app for Android or iOS from Google Play or the App Store. Our goal is for every SUSD family to join ParentSquare and stay connected!
Current SUSD families will receive account activation instructions in late February 2020. New 2020-2021 families will receive an invitation email or text to join ParentSquare near the start of the school year. Watch a short video to learn about ParentSquare: https://vimeo.com/362598038.
In event of school emergency, evacuation, school closure, etc, parents/guardians will be alerted via automated email, text, and/or voice message. The contact email address and phone number are provided at time of online registration (new student) or during the annual student information update (continuing students). If your contact information changes, please notify your school office immediately.
During an emergency, the district's communication priority is to notify parents/guardians of current students first via text, email, and/or voice message. NextDoor, facebook, and other other social media will be updated only when there is staff bandwidth to do so.
Please refrain from calling the school or district office as the phone lines need to be kept open for emergency personnel. Parents/Guardians will be sent updates as soon as we are able.
