Please follow the steps below to verify district residency and familiarize yourself with the new-student registration procedure.  Additional information is located in the side bar at left.

STEP 1: What School District Is My Property Located In?

Within the City of Saratoga, there are 4 different elementary school districts - including portions of Campbell, Cupertino, and Moreland School Districts as well as Saratoga USD.  Before starting the registration process, it is important to determine which district your property is in.  You may verify your property's district assignment using these websites:

STEP 2: Read the Open Enrollment Policy Regarding School Assignments

Saratoga Union School District is an open enrollment district, which means no property addresses have been assigned to a specific school (Board Policy 5116.1: Education Code 35160.5)  This means that parents may request the school within the district you wish your student to attend provided they reside within the boundaries of our district and space permits.  Proof of residency in the district must be provided by the student's parent/legal guardian at the time of registration and while the student is enrolled in SUSD.

When a parent/guardian comes in to the SUSD Registration Office to submit registration paperwork, staff will ask the parent/guardian for their first and second choice of elementary school sites.  There are three elementary schools in SUSD:  Argonaut, Foothill & Saratoga Elementary Schools.  Placement at an elementary school site is based on space availability.  All students in 6th-8th grade attend Redwood Middle School.

STEP 3: Registration Procedure

Registration packets must be signed out by a parent or guardian from the district office, located at 20460 Forrest Hills Drive, Saratoga, CA  95070.  CLICK HERE for office hours and times that registration materials are processed. 

NOTE:  Because SUSD must keep a specific count of the number of registration packets distributed, registration materials and some residency forms must be picked up at the district office.
