Curriculum

The schools in the Saratoga Union School District ensure that students are empowered with the skills they need to be successful, contributing members of the community. To accomplish this task, the District has adopted California State grade level standards. These standards provide us with a way of defining what all students should know and be able to do at the end of each year. The standards form the basis of curriculum and assessment at each grade level. To provide an engaging and effective program, we integrate learning across the curriculum.

The Saratoga Union School District is committed to providing the best education of your child and educating the hearts and minds of all students. While all our schools share a common curriculum for which they are accountable, the District recognizes that each teacher has unique ways of presenting the materials. Teaching and learning is a shared responsibility and we look forward to working with you to provide a strong educational program for your student.

Parents and guardians are given the opportunity to work in a mutually supportive and respectful partnership with the school to help their child succeed. Parents/guardians and the school will help students to achieve academic and other standards. The school will provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive learning environment to all students enrolled. Parents and guardians can support their child's learning environment by:

  • Monitoring school attendance
  • Monitoring homework completion
  • Encouraging participation in extracurricular activities
  • Monitoring and regulating television viewing
  • Planning and participating in activities at home supportive of classroom activities
  • Volunteering at school
  • Participating in decision-making processes at school
