School Site Council
The School Improvement Program (SIP) is a program funded by the State of California to provide improved instruction for students in grades K-5. Funds pay for instructional aides in grades. K-5 for science and computer labs, and classroom assistance. Funds are also used for staff development and the purchase of special materials.
The School Site Council (SSC) is a voting council of eight (8) elected Argonaut parents and seven (7) teachers and staff. The purposes of the council are to:
- Approve a budget for the School Improvement Program (SIP) funds as well as other Block Grants allocated to Argonaut.
- Provide the District & School Board with information or opinions they may request.
- Serve as a channel of communication among the administration, staff, parents and the community.
Parents are encouraged to serve on the SSC. Elections are held every Spring for four new members. Open meetings are held once a month. Check the Monday Memo for dates.
