Transitional Kindergarten |
|
On May 8, 2012, the SUSD Board of Trustees approved the creation of a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class for the 2012-2013 school year. The TK class will be a "stand alone" class held at Argonaut Elementary School. "Stand alone" means that only children enrolled in a two-year Kindergarten program will be in this class.
If your child's birthday falls between November 2 and December 2, 2007, and you are a district resident, your student is eligible to enroll. Families with a "young 5" student whose birthday falls before November 2, may enroll in TK as space permits... READ MORE |
Congratulations! 82 Argonaut students were among the nearly 150,000 students worldwide to participate this year in the Math Olympiad program. From November-March, they participated in five monthly contests of 5 problems each, and weekly practice sessions under coaching of volunteer parents. They taught the children to solve unusual and difficult problems and to think creatively. Our students responded well and all were recognized with certificates for their participation. - 72 mathletes won national awards for excellence within Division E for grades 4 and 5.
- 6 students are awarded gold pins that are given to those in at least the 98th percentile (top 2%).
- 22 students are awarded silver pins that are given to those in the 90th to 97th percentile.
- 72 students are awarded embroidered felt patches that are given to those in the top 50% of all the participants.
3 out of 4 Argonaut teams were named to the National Math Olympiad Honor Roll and awarded team plaques (90th percentile or better). The other Argonaut team was named to the National High Achievement List and awarded Certificate for High Achievement (80th to 89th percentile nationally). |
